Gueydan: The family and friends of Travis James Broussard are mourning the loss of their loved one who was called from this life and into the arms of the Lord on May 19, 2013 at the age of 39. Funeral services to honor Travisís life will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home in Gueydan, LA on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 6:00 PM followed by a rosary. Father Jason Vidrine will officiate.

Travis James was born in Crowley, LA to Peter Broussard and the late Shelia Ruth Standfield on August 14, 1973. He was a retired postal worker. He enjoyed shopping, traveling, and spending time with his friends. Travis is survived by his beloved father and step mother, Peter and Martha Broussard of Baytown, TX; one brother, James Broussard (Tara) and their children Garrett and Lainey all of Dayton, TX; his special friend, Jose Mateo of Florida; his aunts, Charlyn LeJeune of Sweetlake and Shannon Castille of Lewisburg; five uncles, John Blackmer of Gueydan, Leo Blackmer of Lake Charles, Cresword Broussard of Cow Island, James Weldon Broussard of Lydia, and Reggie Broussard of Gueydan; one niece, Katie Istre of Gueydan; his great nephew, Benjamin Scanlan of Gueydan; one cousin, Janet Istre of Gueydan; and numerous other cousins from Gueydan.

A gathering of Travisís family and friends to bid their final farewell will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home in Gueydan, LA on Thursday, May 23rd from 12 noon until 12 midnight.
