Hallie Louise Kabalen, 92, formerly of Elizabethtown and the widow of the late Fred Kabalen, died Monday, August 15, 2011 at the Danville Center for Health.

Born in Hardin County on January 10, 1919, was the second daughter of the late Ausbin and Berta Yates. She married Fred, December 10, 1942 at New Stithon Church at Fort, Knox, KY. A devoted wife and mother, she and her family joined her husband in Boston, MA and Augsburg, Germany, before returning to Elizabethtown, KY in 1955 during his 33 year military career. She was a member of the Radcliff (KY) Assembly of God.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her only daughter, Janice Louise in 1996; one sister; and four brothers.

She is survived by three sons, Freddie Michael (Sue) of Richmond, Gary Wayne (Linda) of Owensboro and Bruce Dale (Pam) of Lexington; two sisters Margie Kabalen and Jeanette Westcott, both of Radcliff, eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild along with numerous nephews and nieces.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. at Coffey & Chism Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY and officiated by Dr. Jerry Browning, followed by burial at Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, 5-8:00 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Thursday.
