Thomas Jefferson Ball Jr., 87, of Radcliff, KY passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at his residence.

Fire Controlman 3rd Class, Mr. Ball was a veteran of the United States Navy. During the final stages of WWII in 1945 he was stationed on the USS Cofer and had helped rescue American P.O.W.ís after the bombing of Hiroshima. He was also retired from RCA WhirlPool and UPS . Throughout his life he had received several awards for his blood donations to the American Red Cross.

His survivors include:
2 children, Michael Ball of Taylor, MI, Sharron Wilson of Mansfield, OH; his longtime companion, Gladys Ryan of Radcliff, KY; 1 brother, Virgil Ball of Radcliff, KY; 1 sister, Ernestine Griffith of Akron, OH; a former wife, Louise Hafner of Mansfield, OH; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchild; and 1 great great grandchild

A graveside service with military honors for Mr. Ball will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, August 27, 2012 at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, Radcliff, KY.
