| | | Bonnie S. Abbott, 53, a resident of Davenport, Iowa died on Saturday, June 21, 2008 following an accidental fall at her home.
Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Burial will be private. Memorials may be made to the family for her grandchildren’s education.
She was born May 17, 1955 in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Charles & Elsie Mae (Crafton) Maring. On May 5, 1997, she was united in marriage to Rodney B. Abbott in Davenport.
Bonnie was a graduate of Bettendorf High School and a graduate of Scott Community College where she received her business degree.
She was employed as a conductor with the Amtrak Railroad for the past 10 years and was a member of the United Transportation Union.
Among the things she enjoyed were shopping, gardening, cook-outs and spending time with her beloved family, especially her granddaughters.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Rodney; her daughter, Erin Zambrano of Davenport; her son, Todd Zambrano of Coralville, Iowa; her granddaughters, Zaitha Burroughs, Amaya Zambrano, Sara Zambrano and Serena Zambrano; and her sister, Julie Kiernan of Tucson, Arizona.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her sisters, Cathy Wendland and Darla Dandridge; and by her parents.
