Muriel K. Bezlay, 76, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died on Sunday, August 31, 2008 at her home.
Private family services will be held at the Wickham Family Cemetery in St. Elizabeth, Missouri. Memorials may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home of Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.
She was born August 28, 1932 in Osage Township, Missouri, the daughter of Barney & Virgie (Wickham) King. She was united in marriage to Rudolph L. Bezlay.
Muriel was employed as a licensed practical nurse at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Knoxville, Iowa. In earlier years she & her husband owned & operated several motels in Iowa and Wisconsin.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Rudolph; her daughters, Anne Maassen of Peoria, Illinois, Barbara (Patrick) Waring of Bettendorf and Susan Bezlay of East Moline, Illinois; her son, Steven Bezlay of Nashville, Tennessee; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
One sister and three brothers preceded Muriel in death.
