Thomas J. Aiello, 75, of Davenport, Iowa, died Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at Trinity at Terrace Park, Bettendorf after an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, October 31, 2008 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the family.
Thomas was born October 31, 1932 in Centerville, Iowa, the son of Thomas & Louise (Valentine) Aiello. He was united in marriage to Stella D. Hill on June 19, 1954 in Davenport. She preceded him in death on August 3, 1994. He had served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1954.
Thomas retired from Alcoa, Davenport Works in 1985 after 33 years of employment. He had also driven a school bus for Bettendorf Public Schools for 21 years and had been a courier for Straight Shot Express for 5 years.
He was an avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan and had enjoyed playing Texas Hold’em and Pai Gow at the Rhythm City Casino. He also enjoyed going to garage sales and spending time with his loving family.
Those left to honor his memory include his daughter, Debra (Roy) Coons, of Port Byron, Illinois; his sons, Jay Aiello of Davenport, and Scott Aiello, of Rock Island; 5 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and his brother, Jim (Peggy) Aiello, of Centerville, Iowa.
In addition to his wife, Stella, he was preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters; and 2 brothers.
