| | | Alice M. Arguello, 84, a resident of Riverview Manor Nursing Home, Pleasant Valley and formerly of Bettendorf, Iowa and Des Moines, Iowa died Wednesday, September 29, 2004 at the nursing home.
Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Sunday, October 3, 2004 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf, Iowa where a prayer service will be held at 4:00 P.M. Private interment will be at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Bettendorf.
She was born April 13, 1920 in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of John & Mary (Howard) Mason. On December 1, 1942, she was united in marriage to David M. Arguello in Los Angeles, California. He preceded her in death on December 6, 2002.
Alice was employed as a logistics clerk at the Rock Island Arsenal, retiring in 1982 after 20 years of service.
In earlier years, she loved to read and enjoyed travel.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughters, Phyllis Wells of Bettendorf, Lyn Arguello of Bettendorf and Lisa McPherson of Davenport, Iowa; her sons, Michael of Bettendorf, Patrick of Davenport, Thomas of Bettendorf and Frank of Bettendorf; fourteen grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Alice was preceded in death by her parents and by her granddaughter, Shannon.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Riverview Manor for the loving care their mother received during the last eight years.
