| | | Services for Laraine Janet Bell, 64, of North Ft. Myers, Fla., will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 28 at Chambers Funeral Home, Eldridge. The family will greet friends from 6-7 p.m.
Mrs. Bell died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2006, after an extended illness.
Laraine Shaw was born May 27, 1942, in Davenport, the daughter of Arthur and Josephine Shaw. She married Wayne C. Bell in Eldridge on March 21, 1959.
Mrs. Bell and her husband moved to Florida in 1985, settling in North Ft. Myers in 1988. Over the years, she enjoyed caring for her family and home. She also enjoyed restoring antique furniture, gardening, fishing, and country arts and crafts.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Hope of Lee County, Fla.
Survivors include her husband; daughters, Jody Bockenfeld, Bonita Springs, Fla., and Jayne and husband Dane Edwards, Lehigh Acres, Fla.; a son, Rodney, North Ft. Myers; grandchildren, Lee Bockenfeld, Stefanie Sailor, and Benjamin and Nathan Edwards; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Juanita Ferris, Eldridge, and Valera Rhea, Peoria, Ariz.; brothers, Marvin Shaw, Bettendorf, and Howard Shaw, Davenport; and sisters-in-law, Linda Shaw, Eldridge, and Alice Shaw, Pekin, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Iona Hesse, Corrine Harmon and Maryann Shaw; and brothers, Charles, Arthur, Harold, Eugene and Roger Shaw.
