| | | Mabel L. Berry, 96, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died on Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus in Davenport, Iowa.
Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, March 2, 2007 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf. Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
She was born August 14, 1910 in Kalona, Iowa, the daughter of David D. & Naomi Miller. On April 11, 1953, she was united in marriage to John M. Berry at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Davenport.
Mabel was a registered nurse, receiving her training at Iowa City, Iowa. She worked at the former Mercy Hospital in Davenport for many years and in later years, worked part-time at the former Davenport Osteopathic Hospital.
She had a deep appreciation for all that Mother Nature had to offer and enjoyed watching football & basketball on television.
Those left to honor her memory include her beloved husband, John; her brother, Harold J. Miller of Washington, Iowa; and many nieces & nephews.
Mabel was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.
