Eldon W. Kambel, 69, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, formerly of Eldridge, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009, at Mt. Carmel East Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 7, 2009, at St. Anns Catholic Church of Long Grove, Iowa. Burial will be in St. Anns Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 6, 2009, at the Chambers Funeral Home, Eldridge, Iowa. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to the family. He was born May 24, 1940, to the late Robert and Gladys (Smith) Kambel in Granite Fall, Minnesota. Eldon had been employed at Dealers Lumber Co. for 13 years. His love of the customer was second to none, his passion for kids in sports was immeasurable, and his love for family unending. He is survived by his wife, Wilma (Hunt) Kambel; sons, John and Daniel W. Kambel; brother, Gordon Kambel; and sisters, Kathryn (Don) Pullum and Janelle Levendusky. Eldon was preceded in death by his brother, Greg.
