Eva M. Fuhs, 78, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died Monday, October 19, 2009 at the Genesis Medical Center, West Campus, Davenport, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, October 23, 2009 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the family. Eva was born April 1, 1931 in Oakley, Iowa the daughter of Lawrence and Lillie (Cackler) Nussbaum. She was united in marriage to Robert L. Fuhs on February 11, 1954 in Des Moines, Iowa. Eva worked most her life as a nurse’s aid. Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Robert; her sons, Jeffery Fuhs of Rock Falls, Illinois and Gary Fuhs of Bettendorf, Iowa: her sisters, Charlotte Gregg of Venice, California and Vera Linn of El Monte, California; her niece, Carole Ritter of El Monte, California; her long time friends, June and Jack Duree of the Des Moines, Iowa area; her brothers-in-law, Bill Fuhs of Illinois, Charles Fuhs of Omaha, Nebraska and Tom Fuhs of Webster City, Iowa; her sisters-in-law, Rita Strike of Des Moines, Iowa and Mary Davidson of DeKalb, Illinois and her cousin, Frances Fuhs of Bettendorf.
