Maxine P. Jennings, 94, of Eldridge, Iowa died Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at Grand Haven Retirement Community in Eldridge. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, November 2, 2009 at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Worth, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Heartland Hospice or to Grand Haven Retirement Community. Chambers Funeral Home, Eldridge, is assisting the family with arrangements. Maxine was born August 17, 1915 in Flat Rock, Illinois, the daughter of Thomas & Gladys (Rundle) Pinkstaff. She was united in marriage to Charles A. Jennings in 1938 in Chicago. He preceded her in death on December 11, 1957. Maxine will always be remembered as an outstanding cook and gifted seamstress. Those left to honor her memory include her sons Dan (Mary) Jennings of Long Grove, Iowa and Don (Jackie) Jennings of Des Moines, Iowa; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Charles, she was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Tom; her daughter, Sharon; and her siblings.
