Jason T. Myrick, 35, a resident of Davenport, Iowa formerly of Boise, Idaho died Friday, August 27, 2010 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf, Iowa. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Graveside services with military honors will be held at 1:00 P.M. Mountain Time on Friday, September 10, 2010 at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, Boise, Idaho. Memorials may be made to the family.
Jason was born March 25, 1975 in Denver, Colorado the son of Steven and Nancy (Salmen) Myrick. He was united in marriage to Heather Stanley.
Jason enlisted in the United States Navy in 1993 and served his country until 1997. He received his expert medal in both pistol and rifle marksmanship. From 2003 to 2006 he contracted with the military as a weapons specialist in Iraq, Afghanistan and Kuwait. Jason maintained and repaired weapons for soldiers and believed very strongly in making sure any weapon he touched was perfect. Between 2005 and 2010 he worked toward a Bachelor’s of Science degree in business administration. On March 20, 2010 he received his degree from Eastern Oregon University and graduated with honors. Jason recently worked as a member of the SARET Team for TACOM at the Rock Island Arsenal, Rock Island, Illinois. He was very patriotic and proud of all his service to his country. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and the Disabled American Veterans.
Jason loved the outdoors including hunting and fishing and looked forward to someday sharing those loves with his children. He was a very caring and loving father who cherished his children. He had a very close relationship with his grandmother Ursi Chapellé and considered her his best friend.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Heather Myrick, LeClaire, Iowa; his daughters, Destiny Stanley, Harmony Myrick and Trinity Myrick all of LeClaire; his son, Hunter Myrick, LeClaire; his parents, Steven & Nancy Myrick, Boise, Idaho; his grandmother Ursi Chapellé; his grandfather, Ray Myrick; his grandparents, Robert & Shirley Salmen and many great friends.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Jessica Myrick-Richmond.
