| | | Machell R. Slyter-Tatro, 45, of Bettendorf, lost her battle with Lupus on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at her home.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M, Friday, September 10, 2010 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the services on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery in Davenport.
Machell was born March 8, 1965 in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of David & Betty (Sampica) Slyter. She had been employed for Trammel Crow Properties for many years.
Machell had a great musical talent and a huge compassion for children. In her spare time, she enjoyed making beautiful jewelry. Machell was part of her father’s Children’s Ministry where she led the children’s programs. She loved her family and she had lived for her boys, Andrew & Adam.
Those left to honor her memory include her sons, Andrew & Adam DeLaGarza; her parents, David & Betty, of Bettendorf; her brothers & sisters, Tim & Trish Flynn of Pennsylvania, Tucker Peterson, Theresa Peterson, Eddie Ray Peterson and Johnny & Darcey Yarbrough, all of Texas, and Vidette Archer and Amberly Strawhacker, of Iowa.
Machell was preceded in death by her grandparents; her sister, Theresa (Terry) Jo Peterson; and her uncles, Toby, Johnny & Robert Slyter.
