Sadie M. Dietz, 86, a resident of Davenport, Iowa died on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus in Davenport. Her funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, September 17, 2010 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel in Bettendorf, Iowa. Burial will be at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Davenport Lutheran Home Activity Fund or the American Cancer Society. She was born March 10, 1923 in Rochester, Iowa, the daughter of Charles E. & Anna (Burrows) Burroughs. On May 26, 1944, she was united in marriage to Robert G. Dietz in Muscatine, Iowa. Sadie worked as a housekeeper at Ridgecrest Retirement Home prior to her retirement. Among the things she enjoyed were cooking, collecting salt & pepper shakers, playing bingo and visiting with her beloved family. Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Bob; her sons, Robert (Connie) Dietz of Orion, Illinois and Fred (Cathy) Dietz of Davenport; her grandchildren, Christopher Dietz, Rebecca Dietz, Christie Anderson, Travis Dietz, Justin Dietz and Kyle Dietz; her great-grandchildren, Lauren, Karalyn, Carson, Orion, Hailie, Kole, Ava & Yanessa; her sister, Loretta Jeanne Williams of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and many nieces & nephews. Her parents and twelve sisters & brothers preceded her in death.
