Dollar Bay Norma H. (Jack) Champion, 80, a resident of Dollar Bay passed away Thursday May 21, 2009, at the Cypress Manor Nursing Home in Hancock where she had been a resident for the past month. She was born, on July 17, 1928, in Hancock, a daughter of the late Einard and Katherine (Miller) Saari. Norma was a graduate of the Hancock High School with the class of 1946. On November 27, 1948, she was united in marriage to John Champion and since that time the couple has made their home in Dollar Bay. Mrs. Champion was first employed at Newberry’s Department Store in Houghton and then at Latvala’s Store in Dollar Bay. Norma was a member of First Lutheran Church of Dollar Bay. Surviving are: Her husband: John Champion of Dollar Bay Her daughter: Barbara (Richard) Trudgeon of Twin Lakes Her granddaughter: Carla (Pete) Isaacson of L’Anse Her great grandson: Logan Saari Her sister: Barbara Robillard of Houghton Her brother: Allen (Nelle) Saari of Fullerton, CA Her nieces: Mary Kuure & Nancy LaPointe Her nephew: Dr. Larry Robillard Several cousins As requested, no service or visitation will be held for Norma.
