Janice “Jan” Kay (Kutche) Goodpaster age 64 passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at her residence in Morgantown. Jan left with the courage, grace and dignity that she displayed throughout her rich and full life.

She lives in the heart of John T. Goodpaster, her husband and best friend, whom she married on April 3, 1964 in Indianapolis. She was much loved and cherished by her three children: Joy Elaine (Brian) Wheeler of Martinsville, John Scott (Joni) Goodpaster of Atlanta, IN and Anthony “Tony” Schultz of Greenwood; Grandmother to seven beautiful grandchildren who will remember her joyfully.

Jan is survived by her sisters: Ellen (Robert) Strother of Indianapolis, Anna Marie “Ree” (James) Enloe and Elizabeth A. “Libby” (Randy) Brown both of Carmel; brothers: Jerome “Jerry” A. (Dee) Kutche II of Carmel, Gus C. (Cathye) Kutche of Largo, FL, George F. Kutche of Indianapolis, Richard A. (Rhonda) Kutche of San Jose, CA and Peter A. Kutche of Greenfield. She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Jan’s special gift for friendship leaves many with warm and fond memories.

She was born March 2, 1944, in Indianapolis to the late Jerome Angelo and Jeanne Ellen (Easton) Kutche. In 1962, Jan graduated from Howe High School and the Wood Dental Assistant School both in Indianapolis. She received the Outstanding Dental Assistant Award that same year.

Jan worked as an Office Manager for Dr. Julie Boyd in Indianapolis for 15 years and prior to that she held the same position with Dr. Earl Ley in Indianapolis for 15 years.

She was a member of the Morgantown United Methodist Church for the past 14 years. Prior to that, Jan was a member of the St. Johns Lutheran Church in Indianapolis for 15 years. She was very active in both churches serving on several committees, Pastor Parish and Board of Education. She was a member of the Morgantown Xi Chapter of Kappa Kappa Sigma for the past ten years. Jan’s main priorities were her family and home. She enjoyed hand crafts, music, nature and the outdoors. Jan created cards for her “Card Ministry” program.

The Rev. Robert Mazzola, Msgr. Fred Easton with the assistance of the Rev. Roy Ice will conduct a Funeral Mass 10:30 a.m. on Friday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 5333 E. Washington St. in Indianapolis. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St. in Morgantown and from 9:30 am til service time on Friday at the church. A Rosary Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.

Memorial contributions may be sent in honor of Jan to the Morgan County Hospital Regional Cancer Center, 2209 John R. Wooden Dr. Martinsville, IN 46151.
