| | | Ruby J. (Bray) Jasper - Woodard, age 73 passed away Wednesday morning, July 29, 2009 at her residence in Morgantown.
She was born July 19, 1936, in Ula, KY to the late Leother and Ida Mae (Goodin) Bray. She married M.C. Jasper on August of 1955 in Franklin. He preceded her in death on November 25, 1979. She later married Calvin Woodard on June 16, 1983 in Gatlinburg, Tenn. and he preceded her in death on November 28, 1984.
Survivors include three daughters: Mary K. (Warren) Reed, Betty Jean Jasper and Tonya E. (Robbie) Bowling all of Morgantown; five sons: Wade C. (Carolyn) Jasper & Ernest (Penny) Jasper both of Franklin, Jerry A. (Kathy) Jasper of Shelbyville, Randy (Misty) Jasper & Daylin A. Jasper both of Martinsville; five sisters: Elizabeth Tanner, Yvanna Shockley & Doris Alvey all of Greenwood, Tina Franklin of Somerset, KY and Stella Lindsey of Crawfordsville; two brothers: James Bray of Morgantown and Robert Bray of Franklin; twenty-eight grandchildren and thirty-two great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter: Cynthia Suzanne Jasper; two sisters: Vena Tucker and Phyllis Tucker; three brothers: Ernest Earl Bray, Hershel Bray and Ed Lee Bray.
Ruby was a loving mother and housewife. She worked as a Home Care Nurse for several years in Morgan and Johnson counties.
Ruby cared for her flower and vegetable gardens. She was a collector of wind chimes, tea cups and enjoyed watching the news.
The Rev. Ed Tharpe will conduct a funeral service 10 am Saturday at Meredith - Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St. in Morgantown. Friends may call from 4 to 8 pm on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at the East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.
Memorial contributions may be made in honor of Ruby to the Americare Hospice 1150 N. Main Street Franklin, IN 46131.
