Amy E. (Thompson) Hall, age 92 passed away Wednesday afternoon, September 2, 2009 at the Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin. She was a resident of Trafalgar.

Amy was born June 12, 1917 in Johnson County to the late William E. and Nettie Mae (Myers) Thompson. She married her loving husband of 56 years, Lloyd Dale Hall on October 13, 1934 in Johnson County. He preceded her in death on May 18, 1991.

Amy is survived by her four children: Becky J. and her husband Jerry Kean of Edinburgh; Martin "Marty" D. and his wife Darlene Hall of Morgantown; John N. and his wife Rose Hall of Freetown & William “Rocky” and his wife Jo Hall of Nineveh; 19 grandchildren and several great & great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sisters: Marie Walters, Doris McMurray & Myrtle Poe; two brothers: Glenn & George Thompson.

Amy was a member of the Samaria Christian Church, the Trafalgar Eastern Star and while wintering in Florida with her husband, they attended the Woodlands Lutheran Church in Clermont, FL.

She and her husband were the owners and operators of Hall’s Garage and Grocery in Samaria during the 1950’s. Amy worked as a Nurses Aid for Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin from 1958 to 1969. She later went on to serve as a Private Duty Nurse. Amy had a passion for helping others and volunteered for 8 years at the Woodlands Lutheran Camp helping handicapped children.

Amy enjoyed spending time with her family, watching soap operas and reading romance novels.

The Rev. Dick Throckmorton will conduct a funeral service at 10:30 am Saturday at Meredith - Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.

Memorial Contributions may be sent in honor of Amy to the “Memorial Fund” of the Samaria Christian Church, 4779 W. St. Rd. 135 Trafalgar, IN 46181.
