Ronald L. “Ronnie” Roberts, age 67 passed away Wednesday morning, October 7, 2009 at his son’s residence in Greenwood. He was a resident of Whiteland and former resident of Brown County.

Ronnie was born July 17, 1942, in Indianapolis to the late Andrew and Cora (Bailey) Roberts. He married Shirley (Johnson) Roberts on August 12, 1961 in Franklin. She survives.

Ronnie is also survived by two sons: Russell E. Roberts and his wife Jennifer of Greenwood & Michael A. Roberts and his wife Kellie of Franklin; one sister: Betty Snider of Morgantown; one brother: James Roberts and his wife Mary Alice of Franklin; six grandchildren: Krista, Justin & Bailey Roberts, Cody Turner, Kyle & Craig Roberts and five great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother Jack Roberts.

Ronnie was a 1959 graduate of Helmsburg High School in Brown County and went on to serve as a Private First Class in the United State Army during the Vietnam War.

He retired in 2006 as a truck driver for Ranger Trucking in Indianapolis after 15 years of service.

Ronnie attended the Grace Assembly of God Church in Whiteland. He enjoyed watching WWE Wrestling, fishing and playing croquet. Ronnie was an avid card player of rummy and poker and enjoyed western movies starring John Wayne and Gene Autry. He was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys Football Team.

The Pastor Tim Davis will conduct a funeral service 11 am Saturday at Meredith - Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 9 am till service time on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Brown County.

Memorial contributions may be made in honor of Ronnie to Vista Care Hospice 6431 S. East Street Indianapolis, IN 46227.
