| Janet Spink Putnam Licensed Funeral Director Janet is a third generation Funeral Director. She was born in Allegheny, NY and grew up in Wellsboro, PA. She is the daughter of the late Joseph C. Spink and the late Noreen Donnellan Spink. She has four siblings, Linda West of Wellsboro, Pennsylvania, Kevin Spink of Eagle River, Alaska, Dr. Damon Spink of Silverton, Oregon, and Karen Spink of Oneonta, New York. Janet first received her Bachelor of Science in Child and Family Services from the former Mansfield State College in 1982. She then went on to receive her Associates degree in Mortuary Science from Hudson Valley Community College, Troy NY in 1985. Wife of Richard and mother of Austin and Cassie they have resided in Cobleskill, NY since purchasing Mereness Funeral Home from previous owner, Mr. Oliver Mereness in 1990. With the death of her father and previous owner, Joseph C. Spink, Janet now serves as manager at Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, as well as President of Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home. | ||
| Richard Putnam Licensed Funeral Director Richard is a first genertion Funeral Director. Born in Scotia, NY, he is the son of Lewis G. Putnam and the late Sheila Menhinick Putnam. He has six siblings, Leslie Wood Rotterdam, NY, Michael Putnam of Scotia, NY, Timothy Putnam of Glenville, NY, Lee Ann Wade of Watervliet, NY, Lori Steese of Jacksonville, FL, and Tracey Smith of Scotia, NY. He became a Licensed Funeral Director in 2000 after graduating from the Mortuary Science Program at Hudson Valley Community College, Troy NY. Richard is the manager of Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home in Cobleskill, as well as assists Janet in serving the firm in Middleburgh. | ||
| Matthew Coltrain Licensed Funeral Director Matthew is a first generation Funeral Director. Son of Joseph and Carol VanKeuren Coltrain, Matthew was raised in Middleburgh, NY. He graduated from Middleburgh Central School in 1999 and then went on to receive his Associates degree in Mortuary Science from Hudson Valley Community College, Troy, NY in 2003. Since his early childhood, he has known he was called to be a Funeral Director and got his first ride in a hearse, with Joe Spink, on his birthday, to Middleburgh Elementary School. Matthew also assists both Janet and Richard at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home in Cobleskill. Elected as a County Coroner, he began serving his term January 1, 2008. | ||
