| | | Richmondville- Mrs. Patricia E. Hammond, 67, of Holmes Street, died Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at Cobleskill Regional Hospital.
Born October 10, 1941, in Southbury, CT, she was the daughter of Carl and Bernice (Elliott) Whitford.
Mrs. Hammond was employed at the former Mountain View Manor in Middleburgh as the nutrition manager for seven years.
She had many interests which include bird watching, hummingbirds, antiques, and crystal. Traveling to PA, MT, and visiting family in NC, and FL., along with dining out with friends on Friday nights, were all activities that Mrs. Hammond treasured.
Survivors include her husband, Benjamin Hammond, whom she married May 25, 1963; two daughters: Karen Larkin of Sharon Springs, and Kathy Hammond of Richmondville; her son, Moss Hammond of Angiers, NC; three grandchildren: Breanne Larkin, Matthew Larkin, and Tyler Larkin, all of Sharon Springs; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 14, 2009 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm Street, Cobleskill, with the Rev. Jared van Wagenen IV officiating. Friends are also invited to a period of visitation on Saturday at the funeral home from 1 to 2 PM, prior to the service.
