| | | Potter Hollow- Mrs. Shirley A. Oliver, 75, of Potter Hollow, passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2009 at her residence.
Born February 5, 1934 in Albany, NY, she was a daughter of Amiel and Beulah (Church) Meyer.
Shirley was employed at West Winds in Preston Hollow for many years. She was a member of the Valley Bible Baptist Church in Middleburgh.
Shirley also had a second home and family on Lake Champlain. She spent most of her summers there, enjoying friends, camping, and boating. She was everyone’s “Mom”.
Shirley was predeceased by her husband, David Oliver, Sr., who died July 17, 2003.
Survivors include her seven children: Robert (Andrea) Oliver, Linda (Earl) Vincent, Debbie Oliver, Shirley (Bradley) Hulbert, Grace (Jeffery) Hines, David (Kelly) Oliver, Jr., and Dawn Oliver; her brother, Amiel (Carleen) Meyer; fourteen grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at the Valley Bible Baptist Church, 4648 State Route 30, Middleburgh with Pastor Shawn Foster officiating. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM Wed., at the church, prior to the service. Burial will follow in Potter Hollow Cemetery.
