Betty Ann Harding, daughter of Sherman and Opal (Taylor) Daniels, was born February 8, 1936 in Illinois. She received her education in Illinois schools.
On September 13, 1952 Betty was united in marriage to Donald Harding in Roseville, Illinois. To this union seven children were born.
Betty was employed at the Chateau Restaurant in Pocahontas and later received her CNA certification and worked at the Pocahontas Manor. Betty also volunteered at Upper Des Moines Outreach in Emmetsburg.
Betty was instrumental in helping establish Share Iowa in Palo Alto County. She was also active in R.S.V.P. In her free time, Betty enjoyed doing word search puzzles and reading. She also loved cooking and will be remembered for her homemade dumplings, noodles and pies. She loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.
Betty died Sunday, July 5, 2009 at Lakeside Lutheran Home in Emmetsburg, Iowa at the age of 73. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald; a son, Jackie Harding; a brother, Elmer Daniels; and a sister, Beulah Smith.
She is survived by her children, Richard Harding of Emmetsburg, IA, Debra Harding of Des Moines, IA, Carol Harding of Emmetsburg, IA, Donna Dorweiler and her husband, Paul of Rolfe, IA, Robert Harding and his wife, Brenda of Graettinger, IA and Sheryl Harding of Des Moines, IA; four grandchildren, Joe and Kim Dorweiler and Kyle and Jason Harding; a sister, Ida Mae Gipson and her husband, Harvey of Horse Cave, KY; as well as many other relatives and friends.
