Mildred Anzeline Kunz, daughter of Vance G. and Mabel R. (Bahls) Gile, was born October 13, 1922 in Emmetsburg, Iowa. She received her education in Ruthven.
On October 12, 1938 Mildred was united in marriage to Charles A. Kunz in Sioux City, Iowa. To this union four sons were born.
Mildred was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She was also employed as a nurse’s aid at area nursing homes. Mildred was a member of Holy Family Parish in Emmetsburg and the Nevada Neighbors Club.
Mildred passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at Lakeside Lutheran Home in Emmetsburg, Iowa, at the age of 88. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sisters, Phoebe Mason, Elsie Kurtz, and Wilma Lamberts; brothers, Wendell Gile, Weldon Gile and Willard Gile.
She is survived by her sons, Richard Kunz and his wife, Carol of Papillion, NE, Dan Kunz and his wife, Chris of Des Moines, IA, Dave Kunz of Emmetsburg, IA and Paul Kunz and his wife, Pam of Moorcroff, WY; thirteen grandchildren; several great grandchildren; brothers, Charles Gile of Everson, WA, Wayne Gile of Auburn, WA, Leland Gile of Woodland, CA, Harold Gile of Lynnwood, WA and Wallace Gile of Poulsbo, WA; a sister, Shirley Simonson of Everson, WA; many nieces and nephews; as well as other relatives and friends.
