Mary Margaret Bechtold, 80, Martinsville, died at 9 p.m. Sept. 6, 2007, at her residence.

Born Oct. 26, 1926, in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of the late George A. and Lois (Lucas) Bechert.

She married Robert C. Bechtold Sr, on Oct. 2, 1946. He survives in Martinsville.

She retired in 1985 after 15 years as a correspondence banking representative at Indiana National Bank in Indianapolis.

She was a member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Martinsville and a graduate of Warren High School in Indianapolis.

She enjoyed crafts and making latch hook rugs.
Other survivors include two sons, Robert C. Bechtold Jr. of Murrieta, Calif. and Richard T. Bechtold of Thorntown; a daughter, Margaret A. McGuire of Naperville, IL; two brothers,George A. Beckert Jr. of Florida and Robert C. Beckert of Indianapolis; three sisters, Virginia Mullins of Lawrence, Doris Koehl of Greenwood and Mildred Welcher of Indianapolis; 12 grandchildren and seven great-great
grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, a son, James Bechtold; two brothers, John Beckert and William Reel, and a sister, Barbara Kocher.

The service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, in Martinsville. Father John Hall and Deacon Michael McGuire will officiate. Visiting hours will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Neal & Summers Funeral Home in Martinsville and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Martinsville.

There will be a 7:30 p.m. Rosary service Tuesday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in St. Martin’s Catholic Cemetery in Martinsville.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 1709 E. Harrison St., Martinsville, IN 46151, in memory of Mary M. Bechtold.
