| | | Gregory Logan Bex, 55, lifelong resident of Martinsville, died on Tuesday, January 22nd at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis.
He was born in Martinsville, Indiana on June 15, 1952 to the late Logan and Betty Rose (Bolton) Bex.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 32 years, Sherry Lynn (Arnold) Bex, of Martinsville. They were married on August 21, 1976.
Other survivors include a son, Bradley Logan Bex of Martinsville; daughter, Brandy Lynn Darlington of Avon; brother, Michael Bex of Charleston, SC; and three grandchildren, Bradley Logan Bex, Jr., Jay Logan Darlington and Lynn Marie Darlington.
Greg was a 1970 graduate of Martinsville High School and attended Ball State University for 3 ½ years studying education. In 1973 he began working for General Motors and became a journeyman electrician. He spent many years working at Allison’s in Indianapolis and later the GM Central Foundry in Bedford, Indiana, where he retired after a total 30+ years on November 1, 2003.
He was a member of the I.B.E.W. Local #16, Morgan County Antique Machinery Association and a past member of the Greenwood Eagles.
He was an avid outdoorsman, and especially enjoyed deer hunting. He also enjoyed turkey and mushroom hunting. During his life he attended 47+ Indianapolis 500 Mile Races and was an active participant in the demolition derby.
Friends may visit on Friday, January 25th from 4-8:00 PM and on Saturday, January 26th from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at Neal & Summers. Rev. Jimmy Bailey and Rev. Carl Williams will co-officiate a funeral service on Saturday, January 26th at 11:00 AM at Neal & Summers. Burial will follow in Nebo Memorial Park Cemetery.
