| | | Lorene (Sutton) Thompson, 70, Paragon, IN passed away in the comfort of her own home with family and friends at her side.
She was born September 6, 1938 in Rockcastle County, KY to Earnest Carter & Ada Maria (Barnett) Sutton.
She is survived by four sons; Donald Ray Harden, Kingsport, TN, Thomas Wayne Harden, Stilesville, IN, David Anthony Harrell, Indianapolis, IN and Jack Edward Harrell, Paragon, IN, two sisters; Loretta Yancey, Thorntown, IN & Lois Harrell, Beuford, SC, 13 grandchildren & 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister; Ruby Kennedy and one brother; Donald Sutton.
She was a housewife and raised her children for most of her life and returned to work after her children were grown. At age 45, she went to work for the VFW Post 1257, Martinsville, IN, where she worked for seven years. She then worked as a cashier & clerk at Wal-Mart Pharmacy in Plainfield, IN from 1996 until 2006, at which time she retired.
She was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 111 Ladies Auxiliary in Mooresville. She was also a member of the Moose Lodge Chapter 611, Lebanon, IN since 1977.
She was a 1956 Plainfield High School Graduate and she enjoyed crafts, ceramics, collecting Elvis memorabilia and she enjoyed time shared with her family.
Friends may visit Tuesday, June 23rd from 3-7 pm at Neal & Summers Funeral & Cremation Center, Martinsville. Brother Don Perry will officiate at a celebration of life service that will begin at 7PM Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
