| | | Florence Lucille Ashley, 91, of Paragon, died on Monday, June 22, 2009 at 9:12 AM at the Resident’s at McCormick’s Creek in Spencer.
She was born on May 24, 1918 ion Johnson County, Indiana, to the late Roy C. and Anna E. (Laughlin) Terman.
She was preceded by her husband, Oscar Ashley, on February 24, 2005.
Mrs. Ashley was co-owner of the White Front Restaurant in Morgantown during the mid 1940’s. During WWII she worked at Camp Atterbury until she and her husband purchased the Regal Grocery Store in Paragon. They ran the grocery until the early 1960’s and later opened a laundry mat in Indianapolis.
She was a member of the Paragon Christian Church and enjoyed painting, gardening and doing crafts.
Survivors include 1 daughter and son-in-law, Marjorie (Charles) Neumeyer of Spencer; 2 grandsons, Jeffrey and Ronald Neumeyer; 3 great grandchildren, Adam, Aaron and Ashlynn Neumeyer; and 1 sister, Rosemary Smith of Morgantown.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 1 brother, Charles Terman and 3 sisters, Emma Miller, Marie Reed and one infant.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, June 24th from 5-8:00 PM and on Thursday, June 25th from 12 Noon - 1:00 PM at Neal & Summers Funeral and Cremation Center. Rev. Steve Adams will conduct a celebration of life service on Thursday, June 25th at 1:00 PM at Neal & Summers. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, Indiana.
Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Paragon Christian Church, 290 W. Main Street, Paragon, Indiana 46166.
