Eugene "Gene" L. Barkowski, 51, Martinsville, died at 9:49 p.m. May 4, 2004, at his residence.
The son of the late Leonard E. and Shirley J. (Zahrt) Barkowski, he was born Jan. 5, 1953, in South Bend, Ind.
Barkowski was a photo specialist for Walgreens.
He was a 1971 graduate of LaSalle High School in South Bend.
Survivors include two sons, Brandon Barkowski, Mishawaka, and Zachariah Barkowski, Indianapolis; a sister, Judy Burkhart, South Bend, and two grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
