| | | Vivian Loreen Bennett, 75, Brooklyn, died at 1:50 p.m. March 2, 2005, at The Waters of Martinsville.
The daughter of the late Rufus Martin and Vivian Alice (Gwinn) Bennett, she was born July 20, 1929, in Indianapolis.
Bennett retired from Eli Lilly & Company in 1985 after 34 years of employment.
She was a member of the Church at Mt. Gilead in Mooresville and a volunteer for the Methodist Hospital White Cross Guild and Sunday school teacher for many years.
She was a 1947 graduate of Arsenal Tech High School and enjoyed reading, embroidery work, traveling, music, Bible study and gardening.
Survivors include two brothers, Rufus Martin Bennett Jr., Brooklyn, and Gordon Bennett, Martinsville, and a sister, Mary Messersmith, Indianapolis.
The service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Neal & Summers Mortuary in Martinsville. The Rev. Ron Prilliman will officiate. Burial will be in Brooklyn Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9:30 a.m. until time of the service Saturday at the mortuary.
Memorial contributions may be made to Boy Scouts of America, Hoosier Trails Council.
