Paul Amos, 96, Franklin, died at 6:25 p.m. May 2, 2005, at Morgan Hospital & Medical Center in Martinsville.

The son of the late John Michael and Mary Connie (Hooberry) Amos, he was born Feb. 20, 1909, in Birch Tree, Mo. His wife, Pauline Victoria (Gray) Amos, whom he married Sept. 22, 1973, survives.

Amos was a self-employed well-driller and farmer for most all of his life. He was also the founder and owner of Amos Mobile Home Park in Martinsville.

He was a member of Hope Church in Franklin and served on the board of the Morgan County Rural Water Corporation for many years.

Other survivors include a daughter, Phoebe Blackwell, Greenwood; sister, Ola Jenevieve Durnal, Muncie, and one grandchild and several great-grandchildren.

His first wife, Evelyn Marie (Taylor) Amos, whom he married in 1933 and who died in 1973, and five sisters, Ima Eileen Deibel, Zola and Jessie Amos, Vivian Norene Hansing and Lyndell L. Ross; brother, Ulysses Samuel "Bill" Amos, and one grandchild, also preceded him in death.

The service will be 1 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2005, at Neal & Summers Mortuary in Martinsville. Pastor Roger Stephens and Brother Francis Cheek will officiate. Burial will be in Nebo Memorial Park Cemetery in Martinsville.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 5, 2005, and from 1 p.m. until time of the service Friday at the mortuary.
