Robert E. Allman, 71, Day, Fla., died Nov. 3, 2005, at his residence.

The son of the late James Eugene and Frances R. (Wilber) Allman, he was born Aug. 15, 1934, in Indianapolis. His wife, Patricia Ann (Cooper) Allman, whom he married June 9, 1961, survives.

Allman retired from Harman-Mo-tive in Martinsville in the early 1990s. He was also a self-employed used car salesman for several years.

He was a member of Brewer Lake Baptist Church in Day, Fla., and the National Rifle Association.

He was a graduate of Monrovia High School

He enjoyed working on cars, fishing, yard work and helping others.

Other survivors include four sons, Robert Eugene Allman, Tennessee; James Allman, Camby, and Timothy and Vernie Allman, both of Martinsville; five daughters, Joyce Broysher, Tennessee; Laurie Senteney, Indianapolis; Robin Hillman, Camby; Samantha Catt, Martinsville, and Katherine Huskey, Mooresville; three brothers, David Allman, Camby, Tom Allman, Texas, and Bill Allman, Florida; two sisters, Virginia Perry, Camby, and Susan Harris, Washington; 25 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

A grandchild also preceded him in death.

The service will be 8 p.m. today at Neal & Summers Mortuary in Martinsville. Bro. Bob Waters will officiate. The body will be cremated.

Friends may call from 4 until time of the service today at the mortuary.
