| | | Lois J. Bass, 82, Martinsville, died at 1:42 p.m. on Nov. 5, 2005, at Morgan Hospital & Medical Center in Martinsville.
The daughter of the late Loren Green and Eleanor (Rinker) Gray, she was born June 17, 1923, in Brooklyn, Ind. Her husband, Charles D. Bass, whom she married Nov. 22, 1962, survives.
Bass was employed at Home Building Savings and Loan in Martinsville during the 1940s, and during the 1970s and 1980s, she was the Martinsville High School Athletic Department Secretary, retiring in 1983.
She was a member of First Christian Church in Martinsville and a 1941 graduate of Martinsville High School
She enjoyed reading, bowling and playing golf.
Other survivors include a son, Michael Kinton, Martinsville; daughter, Nicki Dmytryk, Bloomington; two stepsons, Doug Bass and Phill Bass, both of Martinsville; brother, David Green, Brooklyn; seven grandchildren, Victoria, Donnie and Garrett Kinton, Jason and Cary Burch and Corey and Casey Bass, and four great-grandchildren.
Her first husband, Don R. Kinton, whom she married in 1943, also preceded her in death in 1961.
The service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, 2005, at Neal & Summers Mortuary in Martinsville. Burial will be in Brooklyn Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2005, and from 10 a.m. until time of the service Thursday at the mortuary.
