| | | Barbara M. (Martin) Wolfe, 76, Nashville, died at 3:55 a.m. June 5, 2007, at Brown County Health & Living Community in Nashville.
Born April 30, 1931, in Martinsville, she was the daughter of the late Roscoe Jesse and Bertha Frances (Carter) Martin.
She was the widow of Howard James Wolfe, whom she married Sept. 23, 1951. He died Nov. 1, 2004.
She was a medical secretary for N.I.H. (National Institute of Health) in Bethesda, Md. and University Hospital in Indianapolis. She also researched experimental engines within the Navy.
She was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Martinsville and a 1949 graduate of Martinsville High School.
She loved animals.
She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 18 in Bloomington, a member of the Amici Home Economics Club in Martinsville and a volunteer at the Morgan Hospital & Medical Center Hospital Guild. She was a member of the Moose Ladies Auxiliary Post 1085 in Bloomington and actively involved with political polls and community blood drives.
Survivors include a daughter, Judy Lynn Wolfe of Philadelphia; three sons, James Martin Wolfe of Kunkletown, Pa., and John Howard and Paul Adam Wolfe, both of Boomington; and a grandson, Nicholas John Wolfe.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Gloria Jean Wolfe; a brother, Clinton Eugene Martin; and a sister, Margurite Hazel Trout.
There will be a private graveside service at 10 a.m. Friday at Greenlawn Cemetery in Martinsville. The Rev. Dale Knuteson will officiate.
Visiting hours will be 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Neal & Summers Mortuary in Martinsville.
