| | | Michael Harry Bartolomucci, 60, a resident of Marion, IN went home to be with the Lord at 2:31 am on Sunday, August 2, 2009 at the Marion VA Hospital.
Born March 11, 1949 in Mt. Vernon, IL, he was the son of Henry and Lucille (Ramsey) Bartolomucci.
He loved the country, he was raised on a farm and his hobbies include playing basketball, deer hunting, fishing, cooking and horseback riding. He also played in the high school band. He was a member of the First Church of God in Bloomfield, IN and the Disabled American Veterans. After graduation he joined the United States Marine Corps and received an honorable discharge. He lived in Mt. Vernon, IL for many years. He was moved to Bloomington, IN to be closer to his sister, who was his guardian. He was later moved to Marion, IN to be with his veteran buddies in 1998.
He is survived by three brothers; David (Nellie) Bartolomucci, Abe Bartolomucci and Billy (Debbie) Bartolomucci all of Mt. Vernon, IL, two sisters; Carolyn (Harry) Pogue, Altomont, IL and Shirley (Raymond) McClaren of Bloomington, IN. Also surviving are four nieces; Carissa (Carey) Hammer, Aurora, IL, Kathie McClaren, Bloomington, IN Elizabeth (Bob) Hughes, Hillsboro, OR and Amy Bartolomucci of Jefferson City, MO and four nephews; Dustin Pogue, Casselbury, FL, Jason McClaren (Abbie Knight), Bloomington, IN, Alex Bartolomucci, Nashville, IL and Ben Bartolomucci of Hazelwood, MO and three great nephews; Nathaniel and Samuel Hammer, Aurora, IL and Trey McClaren of Bloomington, IN. Several aunts and uncles also survive.
He was predeceased by his parents, grandparents and several aunts & uncles.
Friends may visit Friday, August 7, 2009 from 5-8 pm at the Hughey Funeral Home, Mt. Vernon, IL. A celebration of life service will be Saturday, August 8th at 1:00 pm at the Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, IL. Burial with full military honors will be at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Mt. Vernon, IL.
