Austin E. Pottorff, 78, a resident of Martinsville, died suddenly at his home on Sat., Sept. 5, 2009 at 8:10 AM.

He was born to the late Gerald H. Pottorff and Opal (Martin) Pottorff in Morgan County, Indiana on March 13, 1931.

On September 1, 1951 he married Mildred Carol (Baker) Pottorff, she predeceased him on January 17, 1996.

He is survived by one son; Marty E. Pottorff, Martinsville, IN, one brother; Marvin Pottorff, Bloomfield, IN, one sister; Ima Stayton, Martinsville, IN, 3 granddaughters; Mandy, Ashley & Trisha Pottorff and one great grandson; Austin Riley Phillips.

He was predeceased by one brother; Homer Pottorff and one sister; Erma Moody.

Mr. Pottorff retired from Globe Paving, Indianapolis, in 1991 after 27 ½ years. He was a member of the Corinth Baptist Church, Plano, IN and a graduate of Eminence High School Class of 1949.

He enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter, his companions and cutting firewood, farm machinery and fishing.

Friends may visit Tuesday, Sept. 8th from 4-8 PM and Wed., Sept. 9th from 12:00-1:00 PM at Neal & Summers Funeral & Cremation Center, Martinsville. A celebration of life service will begin at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Nebo Memorial Park Mausoleum, Martinsville.
