| | | Kenneth M. Dalton, 75, of Bonita Springs, FL, formerly of Martinsville passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2009 at 7:34 PM in New Castle, Indiana.
Mr. Dalton lived most all of his life in Martinsville. He was born on August 28, 1934 in Bloomington, Indiana to the late Raymond F. and Hazel H. (Haase) Dalton.
He graduated from Martinsville High School with the class of 1952 and attended one year each at Wabash University and Indiana University. He served with the Indiana National Guard following graduation.
On April 15, 1955 he married Shirley C. (Walters) Dalton. She survives in Bonita Springs, Florida.
Mr. Dalton was owner of Dalton Hardware and Gifts in Martinsville during the 1960’s and 1970’s, as well as, Central Claims and Ken Dalton & Associates during the 1970’s – 1990’s.
He was on the board of director’s at First National Bank in Martinsville for many years and a past member of the Martinsville Elks Lodge #1349.
He was an avid golfer and a member of the Spanish Wells Country Club in Florida.
He leaves behind his wife of 55 years, Shirley C. Dalton; son, Steve Dalton of Knightstown; five grandsons, Nick, A.J. and Garrett Dalton and Brian and Matt Stephey; and four great grandchildren, Brogan, Beckhem, Kora & Kain Stephey.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Cindy Clark in May 2008.
Friends are encouraged to visit on Thursday, October 1st, 2009 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Neal & Summers Funeral and Cremation Center in Martinsville. Pastor Ryan McCarty will conduct a Celebration of Life Service beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. There will be a private committal service on Friday in South Park Cemetery in Martinsville.
