| | | Tonia Ann Conklin, 48, of Martinsville died on Thursday, October 1st, 2009 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Tonia was born on September 19, 1961 in Raleigh, North Carolina to the late Nathan M. Tedder and Minnie Farrior (Brinson) Tedder, who survives in Indianapolis.
She was a graduate of Lawrence North High School in Indianapolis with the class of 1980 and a member of The Restoration Church in Greenwood.
On May 24, 1988 she married, Troy Thomas Conklin. He survives in Martinsville.
She had worked as a loan consolidator for USA Student Funds in Indianapolis for many years, before becoming a dedicated mother.
She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, helping others, crafts and her French poodle, Blackie. Her greatest passion was being a mother and spending time with her son.
She leaves behind a host of family and friends including her mother, husband, son, James Thomas Conklin of Martinsville; three brothers, Scott, Nathan and Andre Tedder and two sisters, Michelle and Sedahia Tedder all of Indianapolis.
Family and friends are encouraged to visit on Monday, October 5th from 5 – 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 12 Noon – 1 p.m. at Neal & Summers Funeral and Cremation Center in Martinsville. Pastor David Stephenson will conduct a Celebration of Life Service at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in New South Park Cemetery in Martinsville.
