Juanita Knowles, 87 of Linton, passed away at 5:20 AM Saturday October 31, 2009 at Glenburn Nursing Home in Linton. She was born in Clay Co., Indiana February 9, 1922, the daughter of Aaron Gardner and Sally White Gardner.
She was a member of the Olive Branch Baptist Church in Linton, and a Pink Lady for 20 years at Greene Co. General Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her parents, also her husband Marion Knowles in 1988, one son, Kent Ray Knowles, six brothers, Buck, Herb, John, Raymond, Sam, and Roy Gardner, and four sisters, Stella Owens. Kate Hunt, Ruby Wells, and Mercy Kayser.
Survivors include one sister, Mabel Usrey of Linton, four grandchildren, Sara, Aaron, Larry, and DeeDee, and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday November 4, 2009 at Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Myron Young officiating. There will be no visitation. Newkirk’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
