Carolyn J. Payne, 70, of Linton, passed away at 8:57 PM Friday November 6, 2009 at the Greene Co. General Hospital.
She was born in Sullivan Co., Indiana March 2, 1939, the daughter of Willard Goodman and Etta Gaines Goodman.
She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Linton, and was formerly employed at the Greene Co. General Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her parents, also her husband Danny Payne in 2005, three brothers, James, Donald, and Dale Goodman, and one sister, Jennie Street.
Survivors include one son Sam Goodman, and friend Tony Bradley, four sisters, Wanda Ridge (Ralph) of Sullivan, Wilma Cavanaugh of Linton, Linda Kay Pfaff (Glenn) of Martinsville, and Kathleen Sarles (Dave) of Palmyra.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at the Bethel Baptist Church in Linton with Pastor Doug Cassell officiating. Interment in the Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Friends may call at Newkirk’s Funeral Home in Dugger from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday.
