| | | Duane Marvin Bartz was born December 4, 1954, in Waseca, Minnesota to Marvin and Deloris (Hondel) Bartz. Duane graduated from Waseca High School and the University of Minnesota. On April 4, 1981, Duane was united in marriage to Marjorie Steager in Coleraine, Minnesota. The couple moved to Algona where Duane was employed as a supervisor at Hormel Foods Corporation.
Duane loved spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, and playing cards. He was an avid reader and a Vikings, Twins and Gophers fan.
Duane died on Friday, July 6, 2007 at his home at Algona at the age of 52.
Survivors include his wife Marj of Algona, two sons, Nickolas and Adam, both of Algona, his parents, Marvin and Deloris Bartz of Waseca, Minnesota, one brother Brian Bartz and wife Diane of Waseca, Minnesota and one sister Cindy Kangas and husband Chuck of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Duane was preceded in death by his grandparents.
