Jean Marie Anderson was born December 2, 1958, in Bancroft, Iowa, the daughter of George and Ada (Dixon) Anderson.

Jean has been a resident at Exceptional Opportunities in Burt, Iowa, since 1981. She attended the Options Program through the Exceptional Opportunities Program.

She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Swea City, Iowa. Jean also attended Religious Nurture in Burt and Sunday night worships with Pastor Bailey and Cindy. She enjoyed eating M&M’s, drinking pop and watching the cooks in the kitchen and seeing what they were fixing. Jean also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends at Exceptional Opportunities.

Jean died on Tuesday, November 4, 2008, at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona, Iowa. She was 49.

Jean is survived by her mother, Ada of Ledyard; brother, Robert Anderson and wife Rose of Golden Valley, Arizona; sisters, Barbara Anderson of Ledyard, Karen and Becky Anderson both of Burt. Also surviving are her nephew Eric Flaten of Northwood and niece Jessica Hilborn of Dubuque and five great-nieces and nephews, Ava, Cora, Ian, Ethan and Emma and a family of care givers at Exceptional Opportunities.

She was preceded in death by her father, George Anderson and grandparents, Orville and Mae Dixon and Chris and Olive Anderson.
