Thresa Baade was born on March 26, 1926, in rural Titonka, Iowa to Dick and Tena (Meyer) Spear. Thresa was baptized and Confirmed at the Ramsey Reformed Church near Titonka. She received her education in German Township and the Titonka High School and later earned her GED from Iowa Lakes Community College.
Thresa was united in marriage to Raymond Baade on June 2, 1949, at the Ramsey Reformed Church. She was an active member in her church where she taught Sunday School, Bible School, catechism and served in many capacities in the Ramsey Church Women and Ruth and Esther circle organizations. She was an active member of the Titonka Care Center Helpmates. Thresa worked at the Farmer’s Co-op Oil Co. for 20 years.
Thresa is survived by her husband, Raymond, Titonka, Iowa, her son, Jerry and wife, Sandy, Titonka, Iowa, her grandchildren, Suzanne Petit and husband, Dan, Bondurant, Iowa, Sara Winkelman and husband, Brian, Ledyard, Iowa, Christopher Lamping and Brandon Lamping, Forest City, Iowa and her great grandchildren, Cheyenne Petit and Grace Winkelman. Thresa is also survived by her sisters, Juniece Beenken and husband, Herbert, Titonka, Iowa, Phyllis Baade and husband, Alfred, Titonka, Iowa, Johanna Meinders, Buffalo Center, Iowa and her brother-in-law, Francis Kellie and wife, Evie, Belgrade, Montana.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Dick and Tena Spear, two sons, Douglas and Randal Baade, her sister, Berniece (Spear) Kellie, her brother, Herman Kettwich and wife, Anna and her brothers-in-law, Eugene Beenken and Alvin Meinders.
