Bernard Paul Anderson was born on June 22, 1955, at Hampton, Iowa to Harry and Charlene Blomberg Anderson. He was baptized at the First Lutheran Church in Dows, Iowa and Confirmed at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Renwick. He received his education in Renwick, graduating from the Boone Valley High School in 1974. After his schooling, Bernie worked for Cenex Land O Lakes in the Cedar Falls, Iowa area. He then moved to Durham, California and worked for Coca Cola for 10 years. On September 20, 1986, Bernie was married to Stacey O’Shea at Durham. The couple remained in Durham for a time. They then moved to the Renwick area, where Bernie worked at the Gold Eagle Coop. Bernie and Stacey lived for a time in Goldfield and then moved to a farm east of LuVerne. Bernie began working for Crop Production Services in the late 1990’s. He and Stacey moved into LuVerne in 2002.
Bernie was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in LuVerne. He also belonged to the Izaak Walton League in Renwick. Bernie enjoyed fishing, gardening, canning, splitting wood, taking care of his yard and mowing his lawn.
Bernie died suddenly on Saturday, February 14, 2004, on a road south of Corwith, Iowa from injuries sustained in an auto related accident. He was 48.
Bernie is survived by his wife, Stacey, LuVerne, Iowa, one son, Kristopher Anderson, LuVerne, Iowa and two daughters, Kayla Anderson, LuVerne, Iowa and Kelly Anderson, Seattle, Washington. Also surviving are his mother, Charlene Anderson, Eagle Grove, Iowa, his sister, Lori Grebner and husband, Mike and their children, Jessica and Brandon, all of Tripp, South Dakota and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Don and Marlene Edwards, Reno, Nevada. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins. Bernie was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents.
