| | | | Ervin Earl Barton was born on May 12, 1927 on a farm south of LuVerne, Iowa to Ervin and Georgia (Henderson) Barton. He graduated from LuVerne High School in 1945 and continued farming with his father on the family farm where they had lived since 1932. On June 26, 1952, Earl was married to Eleanor Heun at the United Methodist Church in LuVerne. The couple farmed the family farmed where they lived their entire married life. Earl was a people person and he believed no one was a stranger. He was a hardworking farmer and enjoyed fishing, boating and dancing to country-western music.
Earl died suddenly on Tuesday morning, November 16, 2004 at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital at the age of 77.
Survivors include his wife Eleanor of LuVerne, two daughters Linda Berger and husband Pete of Ames and Sharon Froning and husband Steve of Ames. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two sisters Virginia Broesder and husband Marvin of Lone Rock, Iowa and Alice Barton of Algona. Earl was preceded in death by his parents, one brother William and two sisters Elinor and Alice Idella.
