On April 8, 1932, Orvilla was united in marriage to Carlyle Becker in Iowa City, Iowa. The couple lived in the Algona area until 1950, when they moved to Central City, Iowa. They later moved to Davenport and returned to Algona in 1972. They operated Becker’s Sporting Goods Store until 1982, and retired. Earlier, Orvilla had been employed at the Bancroft Register and the telephone company.

Orvilla served several years as a Girl Scout leader and was chosen as Mother of the Year of the FHA Chapter. She was a charter member of the WSCS and was President of the PTA for two years.
