Of Lackawanna, NY, April 8, 2004; beloved husband of the late Mary (Evancho) O'Meara; loving father of Michelle (Michael) McCann, John J. (Cynthia) O'Meara, Colleen (James) Connors and Matthew Paul O'Meara; dear brother of Helen Gareau and the late mary Powers and John Joseph, James Francis, William and Michael O'Meara; cherished grandfather of nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. The family will be present to receive friends on Saturday and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the O'Connell-Murphy Funeral Home, 2286 South Park Ave. where a funeral will be held Monday at 8:45 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Victory Basilica at 9:30.
Mr. O'Meara was a member of the Ironworkers Local 6 for 60+ years and a WWII Navy veteran. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to the O'Meara family by selecting the "contact funeral home" button.
