William "Acres" Prendergast Sr. Of Buffalo, May 16, 2004. Beloved husband of Kathleen (O'Conner) Prendergast; dear father of William Jr., Patrick Prendergast, Kathleen (Dennis) Whalen, Daniel (Marie) and Lt. Commander Brian (Joanne) Prendergast; loving brother of the late Mary Fitzpatrick, Joseph Prendergast, Nell Fitzpatrick, Thomas Prendergast and Dale O'Dea; cherished grandfather of nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The family will be present to receive friends on Wednesday and Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the O'CONNELL-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 2286 South Park Ave., where funeral will be held Friday at 8:45 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Ambrose Church at 9:30. Mr. Prendergast was a member of the DAV and a Postal worker for 46 years. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations may be made to Disabled American Veterans. Interment in Bath National Cemetery.
