Jane W. (Wolf) Loftus

Passed away with her family at her side, June 18, 2004, beloved wife of the late Victor Loftus; loving mother of Terrance (Cindy), David (Mary) Loftus, Sheila Frost, Kevin (Marikay) and Dennis (Susan) Loftus; dear sister of the late Fred, Daniel and Paul Wolf; cherished grandmother of ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The family will be present to receive friends Sunday from 3-9 PM at the O'CONNELL-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 2286 South Park Ave. where funeral will be held Monday at 10:15 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Ambrose Church at 11:00. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations may be made to Hospice Buffalo and Nardin Academy. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. A Mass of Christian Burial for Jane Wolf Loftus, a retired parochial school teacher, will be offered at 11 a.m. today in St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 65 Ridgewood Road, preceded by prayers at 10:15 a.m. in O'Connell-Murphy Funeral Home, 2286 South Park Ave. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Lackawanna.
Mrs. Loftus, a Buffalo native, died Friday at home after a long illness. She was 93.

She graduated from Nardin Academy in 1928 and from Canisius College in 1932. She worked for the New York Central Railroad as a secretary before beginning her teaching career.

Mrs. Loftus taught at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, St. Ambrose and Holy Family schools from 1960 until her retirement in 1992.

Her husband, Victor, died in 1967.

Survivors include a daughter, Sheila Frost of Buffalo; four sons, Terrance of Troy, David of Rhode Island, Kevin of West Seneca and Dennis of Buffalo; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
